HUNCHBACK' Description Current Lot AMERICAN SCHOOL 19th Century "U.S.S. Hunchback". Unsigned. The U.S.S. Hunchback was built in New York in 1852 for civilian use. She was converted to a gunboat for the Civil War in 1862. She served actively in North Carolina and Virginia waters.
